Casas Pintadas FEA
CasasPintadas located in Évora, Portugal, is a mural painting dating back to the first half of the 16th century (circa 1513) inside Eugénio de Almeida Foundation.
Open to the public, this historical monument is a great example of depiction of a vibrant symbolic universe of real and mythological creatures, including dragons, mermaids, herons, and centaurs taken from medieval bestiaries.
These illustrations were directly inspired by the mural’s fantastical elements, visually adapted with paper cuts and stamps patterning.
This work was done to promote Eugenio de Almeida Foundation’s yearly patrimonial and cultural awareness series of activities.
