Biomontado

Series of botanical illustrations of native plants from the Alentejo Region, Portugal. These botanical illustrations were used to promote the work of the Biology Chair of the University of Évora, highly responsible for the study and preservation of the natural landscape of this region.

Drawing from the classical approach of Botanical Illustration tradition, I dissected each plant to its elemental components, then I graphically interpreted them into simple geometrical shapes. From those shapes, I designed a collection of rubber stamps that I used as building blocks to depict the plants.
