I’m an author and a visual artist.
I observe and collect ideas and impressions that amuse me before I get inside the studio, a place where I distill my accumulations into storytelling pictures, objects and moving images to be collected by others.
Every new project is an opportunity to refresh my practice.
Most of the time, my stories gravitate around my origin mythology in countryside Portugal. My present questions guide me to wherever tomorrow might lead.
Experimenting with new mediums, techniques and formats is a fundamental part of my approach to new challenges and stories.
In my toolbox I carry colors, shapes, textures, found objects, stencils, brushes, markers, stamps, notebooks, to-do lists and constellations of references.
